Chabad offers a warm and welcoming community for Jewish students in Waterloo. Our legendary judgment-free vibe makes every single Jew feel at home, and our thirst for learning creates many opportunities for personal growth. Aside from weekly Shabbat dinners, Shul services and Torah classes, Chabad offers social events and holiday celebrations to bring all the members of the tribe together. For students experiencing challenges and difficulties, Rabbi and Rivky Goldman are always available for pastoral counseling and support. Here's how you can find out about upcoming student events at Chabad in Waterloo.
1. For students only - Join the "ChaBot" texting system. All event invitations for Shabbat dinners, classes, social events etc. are sent out via text message. All event registration (required) is also done via text message. To join the "ChaBot" system, send a text message saying "WELCOME" to 226-240-4242.
Text MEZUZAH to request a free loaner mezuzah for your room. Includes scroll+case, and can also be purchased to keep for $65.
2. Parents can join the Facebook group for parents of Jewish students here. Many parents find it useful for asking questions about their children's needs, networking with other parents for subletting, and other mom and dad stuff :). Click here to join.
